The 9^th Yiwu International Forest Products Fair closed on November 4, 2016 at Yiwu International Expo Center in Eastern China’s Zhejiang Province, reaching deals worth RMB 4.78 billion or $700 million within 4 days, a 1.29% increase compared to last year. The domestic transaction volume reached RMB 3.56 billion ($521.26 million), accounting for 74.39% of the total, while the international transaction volume reached RMB 1.22 billion ($179.47 million), accounting for 25.61%. In every hour of the 30 exhibition hours, deals worth RMB 150 million ($22 million) were reached.

Themed “Share Green Practices”, the Fair attracted a record of 1,595 exhibitors from 45 countries to show their products. The 85,000-square-meter exhibition area in 10 exhibition halls accommodated a total of 3,736 standard booths, which was also a new record compared to the previous years.

This year’s event featured an increased number of professional visitors. It attracted 316,600 visitors, 5,028 of which were overseas visitors from countries such as Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, as well as 22 purchasing delegations, including 6 international purchasing delegations. Under the new circumstances of the global economy, the Fair secured a steady growth in its exhibition size by focusing on innovation to attract exhibitors and enhanced its position as China’s No. 1 forestry fair.

The Fair of this year, featuring “Green, Low-Carbon and Environment-friendly”, displayed over 100,000 products in eight categories including Furniture and Accessories, Timberwork & Wooden Building Materials, Wood & Bamboo Handicrafts, Wood & Bamboo Daily Necessities, Forest Foods, Tea Products, Flowers & Gardening and Forestry Technology & Forestry Equipment.
